Ask after you attempt, not before
An AI solution read before you have struggled with a question feels obvious, and that feeling is the problem — it is recognition, not ability. Give every question a genuine attempt of a few minutes first. Even a failed attempt loads the problem into your head, so the explanation attaches to something.
Ask for the reasoning, not the answer
The useful question is rarely 'what is the answer'. It is 'why this method', 'where did my step go wrong', or 'what would change if the sign were reversed'. Our solver returns the steps, the reason the method works, and the common mistakes for exactly this purpose.
Close the loop with practice
After reading an explanation, close it and redo the question on paper from scratch. If you cannot, you have not learned it yet — you have only watched it being learned. Then solve the two similar practice questions provided with each solution.
Verify anything that looks surprising
AI models are strong but not infallible, especially on long numerical chains and unusual phrasing. Check that the final answer has sensible units and magnitude, and cross-check against your textbook when a result contradicts what your teacher taught. Treat the AI as a very fast, very patient study partner — not as an authority.
Use it to find your weak spots
The most valuable use of an AI tutor is diagnosis. Describe what confuses you in your own words and let it identify the underlying gap, then practise only that. Most students lose marks to a small number of specific gaps, and naming them is most of the fix.
